Attorney Sheila Rodriguez has a real passion and drive in helping immigrants achieve their goals and dreams.

She realized at an early age that she wanted to be an attorney. For her, the prospect of fighting injustice and helping people who did not understand the complicated legal system always drove her to become a hands-on attorney who is able to be compassionate with her clients, but also effective and assertive in defending their best interests. 

Attorney Rodriguez started her career in the Immigration field as an attorney in New York with a focus on Asylum, Family-Based Petitions and Removal Cases. She has successfully represented her clients on countless occasions before the Immigration Courts throughout the United States in Removal Defense cases, Asylum, Cancellation of Removal and Withholding of Removal. She also has represented clients before the Board of Immigration Appeals as well as several Federal Courts and has helped them with immigrant and non-immigrant matters with USCIS.

After her successful career in New York, Sheila moved to Orlando, Florida where she joined the national law firm of Maney, Gordon, Zeller, P.A., where she worked as an Associate Attorney.

Attorney Rodriguez’ past experience and track record of success as a high-level litigation attorney for large corporations gives her a unique ability to fight for those who need effective representation in immigration matters. Prior to founding Rodriguez Figueroa Law, Sheila worked as a Litigation Attorney at O’Neill & Borges, LLC in San Juan, Puerto Rico for more than 7 years. During said time, she represented financial institutions, institutional investors and purchasers of distresses assets in insolvency and creditors’ rights matters, such as, foreclosure and collection of monies, lenders’ liability defense, bankruptcy and commercial litigation. Attorney Rodriguez was able to successfully represent her banking industry clients throughout the local and federal courts in Puerto Rico, obtaining judgments in favor of her clients of more than $60 million dollars, through full payments, successful payment plans, sales of assets and auctions. In addition, due to Attorney Rodriguez’ efforts, her clients were also able to obtain possession of their collateral in order to administer, maintain and make sure that their property kept its market value.

She also counseled and represented a wide variety of corporate clients in both extrajudicial and judicial claims. In the Insurance and Health Law practice area, she counseled and represented health insurance companies in a wide variety of cases before judicial and administrative forums, including health providers’ claims, regulatory issues before the Puerto Rico Health Insurance Administration, and controversies related to the administration of health maintenance organizations. During the time that Sheila worked with insurance companies, she ensured that health care providers complied with applicable rules and regulations, and that they abide by the principles of her clients. She also managed to lower health provider’s claims and collection of monies claims filed against her clients.

She also successfully represented clients in personal injury claims and products liability cases, eviction cases, trademarks, and construction cases. She also has vast experience in complex commercial litigation cases.
